Introduction to Basic Combat
Upon creation of your character, it is highly advisable to pick a forum if you are going to dice. It may not be immediate, but it would be a good idea to become an active forum member. Whether it be a freelance, guild, or clan: some type affiliation must be deemed valid for your dice to be considered legal. Every new character starts off with twenty sided dice. [d20]. Their mortality is based off of their role play. If your character is a mortal? [2d]. If your character is a halfie? [3d] If your character is an immortal? [4d]. What you pick as a mortality does more than just set your RP. It defines your character in how they respond in different situations, such as: assassination attempts [ AA's ], mass spars [ MS's ], death matches [ DM's ]. All dice, enhancers, bodyguards, forums you are enlisted in [and/or clans/guilds] and any registration numbers must be listed in your character's profile or extended profile [ Webpage ]. This must be somewhere easily accessible for them to be considered legal.
Calculating Mass Spar Loss Exp
The majority of your logs are most likely going to be losses. At least until your dice reach a higher level, and are able to make decisions in the Spars and/or matches that will either gain you a win or give you another loss. The safest ways to gain experience is to Mass Spar and/or Spar one on one. Your wounds heal right after the match is over, so there's no real problem.
Calculating Mass Spar Win Exp
The lucky few who win a mass spar, calculate their experience like this: 5xPPLxHD. This means: five times the number of people times the high dice.
Identifying The Number of People and High Dice
At the bottom, or top of most scoreboards that proctors scroll for Mass Spars, they contain something that looks like this: 10d103 or something relatively close. This is simple, and it is the quickest way to figure out how many people are in the spar. The number before the letter "d" represents the number of people in the spar. The number after the letter "d" represents how high the dice was.
The Mass Spar: Where to Begin
At the start of every Mass Spar, the proctor will instruct all combatants that there be limited to no OOC [Out of Character gossiping with the brackets]. This is for the sake of the log, and the auditors. Terms and conditions will be scrolled in OOC by the proctor. If you accept to these terms, you abide by them. The proctor has right to disqualify, no exceptions. Upon acceptance of the terms, you must roll initiative [ init ] when told to do so. This is simply 1d100. the string is as follows: //roll -dice1 -sides100
The Mass Spar : Dice State
This is why it is important to A] be in a forum, B] have your dice listed in profile or extended profile [ webpage ], and C] to know what you're doing. Here is where you state your dice, and mortality. Some proctors prompt all combatants to state character name, dice, guild/forum claimed. So once the proctor prompts: [State Dice] or something of the like, you in turn post with OOC brackets, your dice. Once everyone has been stated, the Mass Spar will begin, starting from first to last on the scoreboard based on what was rolled. This repeats again in rounds until all but one is KO'ed [ Knocked Out ] of the Mass Spar. Last one standing is the winner.
The Mass Spar : Your Attack
Upon the proctor calling your turn [screen name], you must role play out an In Character action. [No deathblows, sexual attacks or harassment.] You write up your action to whom your character's attack is directed at, mentioning their full [screen name] within the attack. [You MUST specify screen name using OOC brackets for clarification for one of two reasons: one: the log. two: the proctor, so he/she will know who to apply the damage to on the scoreboard]. After you have scrolled your attack in a post: you roll your dice.
The Mass Spar : You Are Knocked Out
Depending on your mortality, you only have so much health in a Mass Spar. Mortals [2d] have /20 health. Halfies [ Also called Half Breeds ] [3d] have /30 health. Immortals [4d] have /40 health. Once your damage exceeds your health, your character is automatically knocked unconcious for the remainder of the Mass Spar, and you must role play as such. This is only temporary, your character will be fine after the Mass Spar. Keep in mind, once you're out: you do not get another attack until the next Mass Spar.
Joining Forums
Forums are the best thing that you could possibly do for your character. They provide variety, security, and legality upon many many other things. One of the many responsibilities of the forums is to validate dice, experience and gold. You can buy enhanced weapons [enhancers ] or enhanced shields [defense] to name a couple.
Dice Calculation
As your dice improve, you might need to look to a dice chart on one of the forum sites. Almost all forums are the same, but there are those select few whom have a very subtle differential with their dice charts. You need to keep an eye out for these forums so you will know the exact experience total to calculate your dice. Individual ranks of experience totals correspond with the dice you have, or, will have. It's just a matter of counting your experience and adding it up to see how much you have overall. Your total dice are equallivant to whatever the chart tells you, based on your dice.. | |||||
